Kid's Day of Pickle Making at The Pickle Factory Kids will learn the process of pickling, work hands-on within our commercial kitchen and be in charge of creating their very own batch of fermented pickles to take home.

Join us at The Pickle Factory for a hands-on kid's pickle making project!

This is a fun activity, perfect for school-age kids 6-14 (preschoolers are not ready for this workshop). The workshop is an "open house" forum, you may arrive anytime between 12:30 and 4 pm and plan to spend 1 - 1.5 hours doing the workshop and enjoying the other activities.

Kids will learn about fermentation and make their own batch of pickles to take home with them. They will complete these steps of the pickle-making process:

1. Hand select their own cucumbers for their batch

2. Wash and prep the cucumbers for processing, working in our commercial kitchen.

3. Custom-create their own herb and spice blend, learn about spices and flavoring such as garlic and dill.

4. Make their own salt-water brine, pack and prepare their fermented pickles.

1 Ticket includes:

-Approximately 45 minutes of hands-on pickle making activity

-Includes 1 Fermentation Kit (glass jar, lid and airlock), yours to keep

-Raw materials to create your own pickle batch (cucumbers, spices & herbs, salt water brine)

-Interactive instruction through every step of the process, kid's will get their hands wet!

-Kids will receive a Pickle Master Certificate upon completion of the workshop

-Instructions for overseeing your batch of pickles at home until it is ready to eat

Mom or Dad can accompany the ticketed child through the workshop. Due to space constraints: 1 child per ticket with 1 parent accompanying please.
