Caitlin Mahoney is a New York City-based singer-songwriter, who writes of adventure, passion, chaos and love, or as she calls it, "the spin." Always a performer, Mahoney spent her early days in children’s choir and musical theater. Her music is a mixture of folk, pop and rock music, and her songwriting is influenced by artists like Bruce Springsteen and Jenny Lewis. With classical vocal training and a degree in Creative Writing from Florida State University, Mahoney brings a diverse perspective to the typical female singer-songwriter sound.

Mahoney just wrapped recording her second album Spin, set to release in May 2015, with Chris Grainger (Kopecky Family Band, Wilco, Sixpence None The Richer) and Nashville instrumentalist Jonathan Trebing. The album was funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign, which raised 150% of her goal. Spin centers around life’s chaos and all its different forms. Each of the seven songs covers a different challenge or obstacle and inspires courage to smile through the challenges and appreciate the growth that comes from all of it. Mahoney will tour extensively in 2015 to support the album.

When she is home in New York, Mahoney is a regular performer at reputable venues such as Rockwood Music Hall. In April 2013, Mahoney teamed up with Brooklyn producer Jeff Fettig (Trixie Whitley, Wilsen, Nathan Reich) and independently released her debut EP, West for a While. The four-song EP is a metaphorical exploration of what it means to “go west” and what to do once you get there. The song “You are a Safe Place” was chosen from over 1,000 submissions in the 2013 "Fatherhood Challenge Contest," sponsored by the "This is Fatherhood" campaign. West for a While also saw a successful college radio campaign, during which her record was added to the rotations of over 100 college radio stations throughout the country.

West for a While received an overwhelmingly warm reception and propelled Mahoney to independently organize and execute five solo tours domestically and internationally in the past year, within the United States and in Europe. In 2014 alone, Caitlin played more than 110 shows across the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Italy.
