Come spend an evening at Manifest Distilling learning some of the intricacies behind the art and science of whiskey. Participants will dive into such subjects as the true definition of whiskey, how the spirit is distilled and matured, the chemistry behind the aging process, and the skill that goes into crafting a balanced, flavorful product. We will also be exploring the physiology of tasting, which includes the delicate art of nosing, how sensory systems engage with spirits, and the process of developing a flavor vocabulary. Class participants will be welcomed with a cocktail, engage in whiskey-centric activities such as nose training and blind tasting, and will leave with their own personal DIY aging project to continue experimentation at home.
