The Wire Birds are an 8-piece chamber-folk group based in Gainesville, Florida. The string section provides soothing support to the powerful folk stories. The Wire Birds draw on influences from folk, country, americana and classical chamber music. The group is composed of Dan Stepp on vocals, guitar, and piano, Emma Lou on vocal harmonies, Gabi Shapiro on bass, John Alexander on pedal steel, Dan Hardwick on cello, Aaron Colverson on violin, Elisabeth Schrieber on violin, and Jay Coleman on viola.
