Event Details

The DONNA Foundation is proud to present The Art of Life, a one night only event where art and courage come to life at The Museum, located at 4160 Boulevard Center Drive, Jacksonville, Fla. on August 31, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

The Art of Life, benefiting The DONNA Foundation, brings together some of the most inspirational and unique talent in the art community. The gallery hosted affair gives guests an intimate experience with art, the artist and those served by The DONNA Foundation. Featured works will portray artist’s interpretations of life through motion and live presentations, along with various supporting pieces from other media.

The night will complimented with a selection of cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, music and love. A portion of the proceeds from artwork sold during the event support The DONNA Foundation.

Presenting artists include Dustin Harewood, Patrick Miko and BODY ART REFINED EXHIBITION (B.A.R.E.), each contributing a sampling of their own unique work in support of The DONNA Foundation. Each work displayed will reflect a celebratory look at life, love and the courage to engage with the world around us. A selection of work will be available for purchase with the proceeds benefitting The DONNA Foundation.

Dustin Harewood’s work routinely compares and contrasts his own personal cultural influences and experiences. Born in New York City, he attended high school in Barbados, and went on to marry a Japanese woman. As a graduate of North Carolina Central University (BA) and University of North Carolina at Greensboro (MFA), Dustin brings a great deal of trained perspective to his work. Recently recognized by The Community Foundation, Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, Dustin was honored as one of six award recipients at the 41st Annual Arts Awards.

Patrick Miko is a jack of all trades and works in mixed media but is best known as a printmaker painter with a hardscape construction background. A graduate of Kent State University (BFA) and University of Wisconsin-Madison (MFA), Patrick is also the founding principal of Print Studio Jax and a featured artist at One Spark. As a highly sought-after contributor, his work can be found in numerous local, regional and national exhibits.

Also on display at the event is BODY ART REFINED EXHIBITION or B.A.R.E. Founded by Whitney Myers and composed of over 30 local body paint artists and photographers, B.A.R.E. strives to extend centuries of history through artistic body painting. Transforming people into canvases to tell stories in the most intimate way possible, the group seeks to bring this expressive form of art to Jacksonville, as well as nurture young talent and ensure the passing on of body painting from one generation to the next.
