Teal Peel is the dynamic new collaborative project fronted by Jacksonville producer and multi-instrumentalist Taylor Neal. Teal Peel’s primary sonic identity is actualized through the members of the band, including drummer Brian Lester (VRP, Bobby kid) Caleb Hollan on guitar and synth (Viewers Like You) Daniel Hubert on bass (Primary School) and Landon Gay on pedal steel (Howdy).
Teal Peel’s opening debut to the scene unfolded at Root Down in the heart of Jacksonville’s Five Points, as friends and music lovers gathered for the first official viewing of “Country River,” a 28-minute-long visual accompaniment to Teal Peel's upcoming album. Directed by Jacob Cummings, Country River takes place in a lost summer a few years back, a time of exploration and nature, balancing somewhere between togetherness and isolation, loves and loss.
Joining the premiere of short film “Country River” was debut single “Smello Coffee,” released July 14th, 2021.
Smello Coffee is available on all streaming platforms, as well as the official music video on YouTube.
In an effort to establish a live identity, fuel a cycle of creativity and collaboration, and present a moment in time which encapsulates multiple facets of the origins of the band, Teal Peel is performing live in Jacksonville Beach August 15th at the intimate Blue Jay Listening Room. Every Teal Peel show will be unique and curated for the environment it takes part in, including the arrangement of a wide pallet of instrumentation and a colorful interpretation of moments from Country River via visual projections.
