The Raisin Cake Orchestra is a Jacksonville-based quartet performing throughout the state and bringing a new direction to jazz in this region of the South. Showcasing the immense talents of Yamaha and Silverstein Works Performing Artist Jim Snyder, one of the most renowned clarinetists in the Southeast, who rose to national prominence as a member of New Orleans' Dukes of Dixieland, The Raisin Cake Orchestra combines the melodies, harmonies, and rhythms of jazz, the blues, and New Orleans funk to create a sound unique to our area, where deep-fried grooves go hand in hand with musical virtuosity on every instrument.
