Carole with Johnny, Sammy and Deb and our special guest Tommy Gilstrap return to Blue Jay Listening room for TWO nights playing the favorite songs and artists of Carole, the band members and our family and friends.




Grammy nominated improvisational violinist Carole Mayedo is considered the first female electric violinist on the planet. As a youngster she studied classically with Constance Seeger mother of renowned folk artist Pete Seeger. In recognition of her talent she received a full scholarship to study violin at the prestigious College- Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati , earning a Master of Music degree.


Classically, she performs with many symphonies and chamber music groups and is an outstanding professor of music. Her exploration and improvisation of other musical styles includes folk, bluegrass, blues, funk, country, rock, Latin, jazz and fusion.


Unique and innovative she received a Grammy nomination in 2011 for her work on the PapaHugs children’s album “Are We There Yet?”


Dazzling and daring, Carole received a gold record for her creative contribution on Neil Young’s album “American Stars and Bars”.


She released her solo album “First Flight” in 1983 on Gem records.


A shining performer, she has shared the stage with Jefferson Starship, Crazy Horse, Papa John Creech, Yesterday Today and Tomorrow, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Nicolette Larson, Barry Melton, Jimmy Witherspoon, Pat Wilder Pablo Cruz, the Doobie Brothers, the Kim Carnes Band, Jorge Bermudez and Pete Escovedo among others.


Carole has appeared at many festivals including the Lucerne Blues festival, Monterrey Bay Blues festival, and the Tribal Stomp.


Originally from the San Francisco, Bay Area , California , Carole currently resides and performs in Jacksonvillle, Florida. She continues to tour internationally to sold out audiences.


On May 16, 2019 Carole Mayedo was in the local newspaper called The Beaches Leader of Ponte Vedra, Florida titled: “Local violinist has a gold record”
