About John Beard
As an ordained minister, Beard lived abroad for 17 years—working tirelessly to help the world become a better place: feeding the hungry, providing medical attention, and offering inspirational messages to children in over 35 nations. His past and present collide on canvas to create something much more than an image that hangs on a wall.
“Each work is unique, breathing life into the constant shapes, colors and ideas flowing through my mind; expressing something words cannot,” Beard explains.
Beard believes painting is what he was placed here to do. Working primarily with acrylic paint, and painting since 1999, Beard is son of nationally-recognized artist Dee Beard Dean of Charleston, SC.
Residing in Florida with his wife, interior designer and artist Molly Cones Beard, and two daughters, Zoe and Ayla, creativity is a family affair—from family weekends spent at the studio offering artist workshops to video production, jewelry making and apparel design.
The Beards manage the John Beard Collection, which features their work as well as work of select artists and has grown into a lifestyle brand with sculpture, exciting new art, rugs, soft goods, photography and apparel.
