The Jacksonville Magazine Fashion Project, an evening of high style featuring a collection of pop-up shops and an exclusive runway show, pairs up-and-coming Northeast Florida models and designers in a competition showcasing the city’s cutting-edge style makers. Designers and models must enter a photo contest to participate, only the best receiving entry to create the show.
Working within this year’s theme, Superheroes, designers will craft two unique outfits to be worn by their chosen model during the gala runway show. After the models have sashayed down the runway showcasing the fashionable works of art, the audience is invited to vote for their favorite designs and model. The winners receive a grand prize—an exclusive cover and fashion spread in the pages of Jacksonville Magazine.
For the past two years, the sold-out event took place inside the cavernous studios at WJCT, where it will return October 11 for its fourth annual show. Guests are treated to reserved seating and VIP swag bags, as well as music, cocktails and time to browse the evening’s pop-up shops. For 2019, the event expands to include a portion devoted to the winners of the year’s FabuList readers poll, an online survey of the city’s best services catering to women, selected by women. Expect a variety of hands-on experiences and take-home goodies—making this year’s Fashion Project the most stylish must-attend happening of 2019.
