Beautiful architecture and a vibrant social scene bring people to visit the Springfield Historic District, but it’s the sense of community that keeps them coming back. For one weekend a year, visitors have an opportunity to enjoy the unique character and quirks of the neighborhood by exploring some of the beautiful homes and gardens that line its tree-shaded streets. The 45th Historic Springfield Tour of Homes and Gardens, presented by M&M Homes, takes place on April 27 and 28, hosted by the Springfield Preservation and Revitalization Council (SPAR).

Tour hours for both Saturday and Sunday are Noon to 5 PM. Tickets purchased may be used for either day. Early bird tickets are $15 if purchased by April 25. Tickets will be regular price ($20) if purchased at the event.

Want to see these historic homes while enjoying a breezy bike ride? A guided bicycle tour edition is available for guests, FREE with purchase of a regular Tour of Homes ticket and is BYOB - bring your own bike. On the bicycle tour, local history expert Leigh Burdett guides guests through the homes on the Tour and highlights local historic locations, people, and architecture along the way.

The bicycle tour will depart from 1321 N Main Street on Saturday, April 27 at 1 PM and lasts about 3 hours. To reserve a spot on the tour, please call 904-945-1571.

A Tour map and guide will be provided to all guests at the starting location: SPAR Building at 1321 N Main Street. The route is easy to walk, bike or drive, but the most efficient way to hit all the stops could be to hop on the FREE shuttle, with stops at several locations along the route. Shuttle stops will be marked on the tour map.

Street parking is readily available. Parking is also available in the lot located at 1229 N Main Street (2nd & Main).

Be sure to visit the Rethreaded Campus at 515 E 9th Street during the Tour! During your Home Tour weekend visit, you will be able to shop the retail store, taste some toffee and peek into the brand new kitchen, explore the Serenity Garden and add a “leaf” of thankfulness to the gratitude tree. This site will also feature live music from 1-4 PM on both days of the tour, with Bold City Opera on Saturday and Chris Staton on Sunday. Grab a popsicle from Icecapade Frozen Treats and relax in the shade while you enjoy the music!
