In this extended version, Leigh Burdett of e2ride bike tours will guide guests throughout the neighborhood, incuding the Tour of Homes, highlighting the historical locations, people and architecture along the way.

The bicycle tour is on May 19 at 1pm and lasts about 3 hours. Contact Leigh at E2ride Bike Tours for more information about the Bike Tour edition, or if you'd like to rent a bicycle and equipment: www.e2ride.com or (904) 945-1571.

A Tour map and guide will be provided to all guests at the starting location: 1501 N. Main Street. Many walk or bicycle the Tour route, but some may wish to drive. The entire Tour route is about 1.5 miles.

Parking can be found on the curb near the starting location or other public lots near by.

Each guest has a chance to win gift baskets full of goods from local businesses such as Sweet Pete's Candy, local craft breweries and artisans. Always popular at the Tour, just submit your name and contact information at the Tour starting point to enter the raffle. Winners are notified within 48 hours and the baskets are delivered within 14 days.

If you work up an appetite while enjoying the Tour, Uptown Kitchen & Bar (1303 N. Main Street) and Crispy's Springfield Gallery (1735 N. Main Street) are both conveniently located, featuring popular menus and full bars. Guanabana Ice Pops will be stationed at the Tour start as well, serving handcrafted popsicles made with all-natural ingredients.

Check out two of Jacksonville's newest breweries, Hyperion Brewing Company (1740 N. Main Street) and Main and Six Brewing Company (1636 N. Main Street) to savor a variety of unique local beers brewed fresh. Hyperion will be crafting a unique new brew just for the Tour!

The Tour of Homes benefits Springfield Preservation & Revitalization (SPAR), the 501c3 grassroots organization dedicated to preserving the historic character, facilitating investment, and building community in the Springfield Historic District. The Tour of Homes has showcased the unique character of the community for 39 years, and is a major fundraiser for programming and services provided by SPAR Council.
