Fred Moyer performs!
From Classical, World and Jazz music, Riverside Fine Arts Association is known for its unique programming and offers a concert experience unlike any other you will find in Jacksonville and the surrounding area. Concert evenings always include a complimentary pre-concert and post-concert reception, as well as an artist exhibit from local area visual artists. Riverside Fine Arts Association seeks out music and art that is best experienced in the intimate setting of our venue. There is also a chance to meet both the visual artists and the concert musicians during the evening.
During over thirty years as a full-time concert pianist, Frederick Moyer has established a vital musical career that has taken him to forty-three countries and to such far-flung venues as Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Sydney Opera House, Windsor Castle, Carnegie Recital Hall, Tanglewood, and the Kennedy Center. He has appeared as piano soloist with most of the major orchestras of the United States as well as many orchestras of Europe, Asia, South America, Africa and Australia.
"What can safely be called the only jazz group of it's kind, the Fred Moyer Jazz Trio is stunning audiences with both its own arrangements and improvisations, as well as note-for-note transcriptions of the best trio performances of historic piano giants. Fred and friends create a score by painstakingly transcribing every note of a favorite jazz performance, and then approach the score just as they would a chamber music work of Beethoven and Mozart, not changing the notes and staying true to the style, but interpreting the music in their own way. The end result is an entertaining and swinging celebration of the best in jazz. Fred’s trio often interprets the music of Oscar Peterson, Monty Alexander, Ahmad Jamal, Bill Evans, Vince Guaraldi, and others."
