Looking for a dynamic band for your event, shag or swing dance party, or wedding?! Look no further! The Ambassador of Rock 'n Soul, Billy Buchanan & his Rock 'n Soul Revue are at your service! This nonstop, no holds barred show is an authentic, jawdropping homage to The Pioneers. Buchanan channels soul greats like Ray Charles, The Drifters, Sam Cooke, James Brown, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jackie Wilson, Stax icons, Motown superstars, and many more with ease. Born and raised in Cleveland, OH, the city where DJ Alan Freed first coined the phrase "Rock and Roll", Billy Buchanan has a deep musical heritage. Digging into his father's LPs at a very young age, he became a disciple of all the soul, blues, and rock trailblazers. Not only does this gritty song and dance man belt out the classics like nobody’s business, he is an exceptional, award winning songwriter. In his original music, you can hear the backbeat rhythms and musical influences of all the artists he admires. His latest EP, “ShagShuffleShimmyShakeSwing Vol. 1”, was released in January 2018. He also performs popular artists such as Prince, Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, and Pharrell Williams in his own unique, soul stirring style. And if all of this wasn't enough, Billy also does spot on impersonator tributes of Ray Charles, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, and Sam Cooke. Drawing people of all ages, races, and backgrounds straight to the middle of dance floor, his fans shag, swing, twist, lindy hop, stroll, mash potato, and watusi all night long. When rock and roll was still in its infancy, it was electrifying, unrestrained, and unapologetic. Billy Buchanan & his Rock ‘n Soul Revue exemplify all of those characteristics and is a true celebration of the music.

As an award winning recording artist, he’s released five albums as a solo artist and two albums with his former band Fusebox (Elevate/EMI). He’s had three Top 20 songs on the CCM charts and has performed in all 50 states and in 26 countries. As a sideman, he's played bass, guitar, or sang background vocals for many great artists, including Grammy winners Rebecca St. James, Michael Tait, and John Carter Cash. As a songwriter, he's written songs with Busbee, Clint Lagerberg, Mike Hartnett, Marc Byrd, and other established writers. As a producer, he produced all of his solo albums, numerous independent artist’s albums, and co-produced Fusebox’s “Once Again” album. As an actor, he was nominated for a Dove Award for his role in the touring production, Hero The Rock Opera.

As an educator, Billy has taught hundreds of private students, overseen various camps, workshops, and seminars throughout the country, and is currently the Music Education Director at University Christian School in Jacksonville, FL. Billy has always had a knack for seeing more in people than they may see in themselves. Over the years, he’s had some amazing musicians in his bands and sit under his tutelage. The list includes Adam Nitti (Steven Curtis Chapman, Kenny Loggins), Tom Knight (TLC), Mike Hartnett (Fergie, Trey Songz ), Chris Smith (Kriss Kross), Nico Constantine (Lady Gaga), Nash Overstreet (Hot Chelle Rae), Justin Benner (Hawk Nelson), Tray Dahl (Tray Dahl & The Jugtime Ragband), Casey Pollock (Sara Evans), and Tim Braisted (Brit Nicole, Sam Hunt, Goodbye June). Billy attended Cleveland State University and The Atlanta Institute of Music, and is currently pursuing double major degrees in Music Education and Communications through Louisiana Baptist University (online). Originally from Cleveland, OH, he has lived in Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN, and now resides with his family in St. Augustine, FL.

I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for the wisdom, tutelage, and care of my long-time friend and mentor Billy Buchanan. - Tom Knight (TLC, Monica, Voice Over Emmy Winner)
