About This Event

In cities across the U.S., COVID-related vacancies in the commercial office sector are yielding exciting new opportunities for enterprising developers via office-to-residential conversions.

What is Jacksonville’s potential in this emerging trend? And what are the benefits and complexities involved in office-to-residential adaptive reuse?

A panel of experts will explore those topics and answer audience questions during this special conversation in the heart of Downtown Jax. The event, believed to be the first of its type in Northeast Florida, features guests from markets on both the East and West coasts who will share their advice and broad-based experience in financing, developing, planning/permitting and constructing residential adaptations of office buildings.

The event is free, but seating is limited and registration is encouraged. Overflow accommodations will be available in the event capacity is reached.

The panel includes:

An industry expert with 30-plus years in global markets, Mr. St. Amand’s career has largely been focused on residential with many landmark high-rise and urban-density projects. At WATG, he is responsible for supporting the international firm’s offerings in Luxury Multifamily Residential and Senior/Later Living projects while also harnessing its deep-domain knowledge of hospitality and guest experience. A native Californian, Mr. St. Amand is based in Los Angeles.

Mr. Fairbrother is an alumni of Florida A&M University and Arizona State University.

As with Marc Fairbrother, Mr. Frost’s work can also be seen in projects across the D.C. Metro area, including Virginia and Maryland. He’s now based in Jacksonville, where VIKA South provides civil engineering and site design specializing in transforming infill urban areas into thriving communities that blend livability, entrepreneurial opportunity, diversity and entertainment. He also has expertise in lending across an array of capital sources, including life insurance companies, GSEs, CMBS, debt funds, pension funds and banks.
