Put down that Frosé. Step away from the Aperol spritzer. The adult beverage that everyone is talking about these days is hard seltzer (aka hard water, spiked seltzer, sexy water). And one local business is so overflowing with excitement about it, they are launching an event dedicated solely to the bubbly drink with a kick.

Presented by European Street Cafe, the inaugural Jax Hard Seltzer Festival will be held Saturday, Nov. 16 from 1-7 p.m. at Sesquicentennial Park (1527 North Main St.,) in historic Springfield. 

The Jax Hard Seltzer Fest will feature nearly 20 flavors of “boozy water” from White Claw, Smirnoff, Truly, Henry’s and Wild Basin, as well as sparkling cocktails from Cape Line. The event also includes food trucks, giant corn hole, jumbo Twister, a hula hoop contest and local DJs providing the entertainment. Proceeds will go to SPAR (Springfield Preservation and Revitalization).

Admission is FREE, but fees apply for food and drinks. Drink tokens can be purchased at the event. VIP tickets are $30 in advance ($40 day of) and include a 6-ounce commemorative tasting cup, bottomless samples, a build-your-own-flavor station and other perks.

Food trucks (Dagwood's, Flavor Saviour, Good Food 24/7 and Kravegan) will also be onsite with entertainment including giant corn hole, jumbo Twister, a hula hoop contest and sets from some of Jax's hottest DJs.
