Event Details

This year, North Florida Land Trust is excited to present JJ Grey at Congaree and Penn Farm and Mills in Jacksonville, Florida on December 1st.

JJ Grey, described by fans as the “north Florida sage and soul-bent swamp rocker,” hails from Jacksonville and has gained worldwide acclaim with his band, JJ Grey and Mofro. This December’s concert brings Grey back home to his beloved roots and will feature JJ Grey in a solo performance.

Grey shares a commitment to the land of his north Florida home that fits perfectly with North Florida Land Trust’s mission to protect special places in the region. Grey often sings about the changing landscape in northern Florida and his soulfulness and deep beliefs come through in his music. The farms and eddying swamps of this area are as much a part of Grey's music as the Louisiana swamp-blues tradition. Much like the localized storytelling of blues musicians from the bayou, through his love of north Florida, Grey tells a story of our area’s natural heritage.

Opening for JJ Grey is another Jacksonville original, Baystreet Band, and their blues project, MillaJohn’s BlueSoul. The artists will play under the oaks at Congaree & Penn Farm overlooking picturesque rice fields, orchards, and ponds. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs, kids, family and friends to enjoy music and a day on the farm in support of regional conservation. The outdoor experience will feature multiple food trucks serving all of your favorites! Congaree & Penn will have their homemade Farm Cider available for purchase alongside the delicious local beers from Bold City Brewery!

General Admission covers entry and a signature cocktail by Manifest Distilling or snow cone at Sunshine Grindz food truck! Other food truck fare and beverages will be available for purchase at the event. Coolers are not permitted, but bring your reusable water bottle! Kids 3 and under are free.

VIP EXPERIENCE:

For those interested in elevating their experience with an all-inclusive ticket, Congaree & Penn presents Farm to Table Tapas paired with beer, cider, and wine throughout the event. VIP guests will enjoy a full service experience while JJ Grey performs beneath Congaree and Penn’s 100 year old oak tree. Table service will include beer, wine, Farm Cider, and a farm to table tapas tasting menu prepared by farm chef Ryan Randolph. Located along the cypress lined creek, the VIP tent will boast the best view of the performance. Enjoy JJ Grey in elevated farm style at the VIP tent for a truly one of a kind experience!
