Join Meghan Orman (Honey Bee A Keeper) philosophy teacher, Montessori educator, and avid beekeeper. Meghan has been keeping bees for three years, and studying them for more than five. She will introduce us to the bee's life and help us understand how to support them.

This 2-hour course is intended to give you an understanding of what life for the honey bee looks like inside and outside the hive. We will cover basic honey bee biology and reproduction; the relationship between honeybees and plants; and some of the threats honeybees face in our world today. We will also identify ways in which we can help bees in our communities. Part of supporting healthy bees includes having informed and proficient beekeepers. To this end we will touch on the basics of beekeeping and what you can expect should you decide to pick up the trade, but we will not go into great detail.

You may cancel or change your class registration at least 72 hours before the scheduled class, subject to a 10% administrative fee and for store credit only. Registration changes are subject to availability in another scheduled class, and if you cannot attend any of the classes on our current schedule we will send you a gift card that can be used in the store or toward a future class. We cannot accommodate cancellations or registration changes within 72 hours of the scheduled class. Your class registration is completely transferrable to another person at any time, so if you cannot attend a class you are welcome to give it to a friend – just let us know about the change! Please don't ask us to change this policy.
