About Chef Diana

Diana was born and raised in a small town in Northern Italy between the Como Lake and Milan. She lived there for most of her life. Her parents and her region helped her appreciate food ant the food culture, therefore her roots. Food has always been an important part of her life, and like every Italian family she speaks about dinner while preparing lunch! After having moved in her 30s to Switzerland then to England, the Netherlands and to the States, she traveled back and forth during summer and Christmas allowing her to maintain her childhood friendships and life long relationships. Certified English as a Foreign Language teacher, she has a true passion for teaching. Having lived in five different countries and speaking five foreign languages has allowed her to embrace different cultures incorporating them in her cooking classes. Today, she teaches Italian cooking all around Jacksonville in private houses, clubhouses, retail shops and private venues collaborating with several chefs, restaurants and farms. She also teaches Italian and English as a foreign language online and is planning to organize a culinary tour to Italy in May 2021.Her burning desire is to open a front store Italian cooking studio one day, where she can showcase her Italian products while continuing to educate.

About BEAM

BEAM's (Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry) mission is to provide emergency assistance and a path to economic stability in the hopes that no resident of the Jacksonville Beaches goes hungry or is haunted by the fear of evection. To prevent homelessness, we provide emergency assistance to cover overdue rent and utility payments. To help families struggling with food insecurity, they operate two client-choice food pantries; one in Jacksonville Beach and one in Mayport. Their 6,500 SF "Grace Garden" supports their pantry operation by supplying several tons of fresh organic produce to our pantries each year. In addition, BEAM offers nutrition education, assistance with applications for SNAP benefits and Medicaid and case management for single mothers working to break the cycle of poverty. Their seasonal programs include Back To School with BEAM and other services such as Thanksgiving food. They also collaborate with many other service providers to ensure that clients receive coordinated guidance toward self-reliance.
