Join sommelier Kara Joseph to rediscover the famous Napa Valley wine growing region in this virtual wine tasting benefitting Feeding Northeast Florida. Learn the secrets to what makes it the premier spot for growing grapes in the U.S. Discover how the winemaking has evolved in recent years and how to find quality wines at good values.

We will be tasting three wines from producers throughout the valley and pairing them with three different cheeses. We will have the opportunity to understand how to taste wine and how to pair it with food. You don’t want to miss this engaging and wine-filled class!

*NOTE: This class will take place via Zoom and tickets. Since this is a virtual event, tickets are per household (participating household members must be 21+). Ticket price does not include cost of wine. Following your ticket purchase a detailed email will be sent to you that includes information on the wines we will be tasting and where to purchase them. Each wine is in the $15-$28 range. Must be 21+ to participate.

ABOUT KARA JOSEPH

Kara became a Certified Sommelier after spending a year in Napa Valley, working at Inglenook Estate, where she fell completely in love with wine. She has traveled to France, Spain, Italy, Germany, and throughout the U.S. visiting and learning from producers and immersing herself in wine culture. After deciding to trade pastoral Napa Valley for the hustle and bustle of the Manhattan, she worked as a Sommelier at Maialino and Wine Director at White Street in Tribeca.

Upon gaining valuable experience at the table, she decided to share the wine insights she had gathered in her travels, studies and hard labor with budding oenophiles. Her passion for wine is only matched for her passion for being with people. Thus, her current project is developing her own business centered around wine education and consulting in sunny Florida.  Her business is called Wine Inspired and the goal is to seamlessly combine her love of people and wine.

Wine Inspired impacts Jacksonville by curating wine tastings, dinners, and events in people’s homes, restaurants, and various other organizations throughout the city.   Kara always wanted to make the world a better place and with Wine Inspired she plans to, one palate at a time.

ABOUT FEEDING NORTHEAST FLORIDA

The mission of Feeding Northeast Florida (FNEFL), the region’s largest nonprofit (501c3) food bank and hunger relief network, is to “improve the quality of life of Northeast Florida by addressing food insecurity, poverty, and poor health by providing nutritious foods and other essential goods to those in need in collaboration with community partners.”
