Lions, tigers and bear, oh my! Well, there aren't any bears, but there is plenty of wildlife to see during this outing of the Jacksonville Explorers Club...

During an evening visit at Catty Shack Ranch, Explorer Club guests will be treated to a private tour of one of the region's more unusual wildlife facilities The night begins with an introductory video that explains a little about the ranch and its history. What else makes Catty Shack so important? While some animals are born there, several of the sanctuary's residents are rescues from all over the country. Whether it be surrendered by private owners or breeders, surrendered or confiscated from private zoos, re-homed or "retired" from theme parks and even some whose facilities were damaged by Hurricane Irma, Catty Shack Ranch provides a forever home to animals who might have little options.

Then, guests will go on a guided walking tour with the opportunity to see the resident animals, which include tigers, lions, cougars, leopards, lynx, coatimundis, and foxes. Can you ask questions? Please do! Guests are encouraged to ask questions of the guide as he or she tells you about the animals.

Following the tour, patrons will be permitted to revisit the animals, and enjoy the evening's delicious eats and drinks. Keeping with the outing's "Lagers and Lions" theme, we will be serving an array of carnivore-friendly barbecue and local craft beers--all of which is included in the ticket price. At 7:30 PM, the real fun begins with a nighttime feeding. Watch as staff hand out as much as 600 pounds of meat, and you will hear the roars of approval from the hungry cats. Bring your camera and take as many pictures as you like.

Hope to see you there. Only 50 spots are available. Like all Explorers Club outings, we expect this one to sell out fast.
